A Ring

What does wearing a ring on our 3rd or 4th finger represent?. Regardless of which hand, I just found out that both hands can be applied to represent being married. Depending on culture & religion.
The most obvious reason is either:

"I'm engaged!"
"I'm married!"
"I'm in a relationship!"

OR

"I love to wear rings"

The more depressing reason:
"I don't want people to think I cant find someone who'd give me a ring"

The most recent reason, and I somewhat agree:
"To avoid unwanted problems/issues/headache"

It's interesting to understand why a person wears a ring. I've learn that one should not assume that a person wearing a ring is unavailable. But then again, there are a lot of possibilities.
Although it is a first sign and a rule of the game where if a person is wearing a ring on the 3rd or 4th finger, its most likely the person is taken or want to seem taken, therefore it would be better to just skip the person. And maybe save yourself from some humiliation.
But then again, I wear a ring on my 3rd finger, left hand. What does that tell you?...I'm engaged?...At first glance, hmmmm.....
But here's my reasons for wearing it there:

- It is part of a birthday gift from my relative.
- Its a beautiful ring, why keep it in a box??..its meant to be worn.
- I wear it not on my 3rd right coz that finger is bigger than my left and its a bit tight.
- Wearing on 2nd left finger, looks weird for this ring, plus not professional. Let's not even go to the thumb or pinky.
- I'm right-handed; I feel it disturbs my pen holding technique.
- The most comfortable finger to wear is my 3rd left finger.

So I wear it there.
But that doesn't mean anything, in my case. Just an accessory. I'm not trying to imply anything. Just broadcasting my thoughts that’s all.
